Bishop

Archbishop (Dr.) David A. Jones, Overseer of MTI Network

VISION : Turning Water Into Wine!

Archbishop David Jones' mission is to awaken and enlighten one million souls and more to consciously change the prophetic history of our planet. When you have seen the future you can change that which would be to that which could be.  How? By changing what you think, changing what you speak and changing what you do in the present. This is how you turn water into wine!

BIO

Archbishop is the founder of MTI Network, providing leadership, counsel and bold new insights on the teachings of "New Thought", showing us how to create the power of Good, and manifest the power of GOD!.  "Bishop" and wife, Dr. Bevelyn Jones, have served in ministry for 50 plus years, pastoring for more than 40 years.  They are both recipients of honorary doctorates in Biblical Studies & Humanities/Music respectively.  Bishop and Dr. Bevelyn have been married for 52 years and together have 7 children, 23 grands and 21 great-grands. Celebrating all of their children's journeys, they also recognize the legacy of ministry leadership through their son, Pastor Darren Jones, who is the Senior Pastor of Higher Calling Ministries in Tampa, FL with wife Felicia Jones (@www.HigherCalling.org).  Their daughter, Dr. Davina A. Jones, Director of GREATER (@www.GreaterLovesYou.com).

LEGACY

Elder Paul Henry Williams is the grandfather of Archbishop David Jones.  He is the earliest known pastor in the family, but not likely the first. He built a church near Ybor City in Tampa, FL on the corner of 12th avenue and 26th street, a building which stands today.  Elder Paul Williams pastored in the Church of God In Christ (COGIC) and was married to Mother Ada Mae Williams, a longstanding "mother" in the church who lived well into her 90's.  We presuppose that her long life may have had something to do with her carefulness to treat people nice. Simple, but profound. This was a stand-out virtue in a religious experience that often prided itself on judgment and a brand of "holiness" teachings that, Archbishop Jones, would later challenge.  Archbishop grew up in his grandfather's church, St. Paul Temple COGIC, which was later pastored by Bishop H. L. Simpson upon the death of his grandfather.  Under Bishop Simpson, the church flourished as a prominent COGIC affiliate on Lake Avenue, and later as a prominent independent pentecostal church and built its second facility on Lake Avenue.

Deciding to continue in the COGIC tradition, Archbishop Jones became the pastor of several church pioneers that served with his grandfather, and formed New St. Paul Temple COGIC.  He followed in his grandfather's footsteps and pastored in COGIC until he realized he would need to make yet another transition to help reconcile his new-found beliefs in the POWER OF LOVE. Before his independence from COGIC, Bishop organized "The Greater Love District" under the COGIC Jurisdiction of Southwestern Florida.  It was a clear sign of his evolution in translating scripture that led to further research of multiple religions and spiritual experiences.

As with the tradition of pastoring, he has been blessed to pastor many in various seasons of their lives - family & friends, business leaders & other bishops, the homeless & the wealthy, and people of different nationalities. Rarely afraid to continue "evolving", Bishop pastored under several ministry names, including: New St. Paul Temple COGIC, Cornerstone COGIC, Cornerstone, True Vine Cornerstone, and most recently, Mountain Top International Ministries .  When asked to assume the pastorship of the new Lake Avenue church, whose members in some cases had contributed their life's savings, Bishop led the remaining members through real-estate negotiations and finally a sale to Pastor Mark Jones, Center of Manifestations, which allowed Archbishop to return funds to those long-standing members and other supporters.  Many of the True Vine Cornerstone members remember "the day" Bishop returned the money to the people.  The transaction was a tremendous blessing that also allowed him to retire Bishop and Mother Simpson to their home and mission work in Jamaica as they desired.  The Simpsons served in Jamaica for several years until their return to the states to reunite with family.  Archbishop Jones continued his journey to challenge the status quo as the pastor of Mountain Top International Ministries.  MTI Ministries has now become the MTI Network for ministry leaders and organizations, led by Bishop.

Amid theological controversy and life lessons, Bishop has been standing firm for more than a decade in the enlightenment of love; its power and our identity as divine creatures who can choose to live under the spell of ego, or the spell of love.  For Bishop, the gospel is ultimately about choosing the God-spell.  The God-spell is love, and love is indeed a "GOOD" spell!  Bishop wrote and published his first book, The Millennium Kingdom Message; his second book Shelf-19; wrote and published through HeartInk Press, The Black Rose; and released a mini audio book I Am A Godsend with daughter Dr. Davina Jones.  Bishop is grateful for those who have served in the mission and the ministry of this ongoing effort, who gave of their time and donations, ideas and other resources.  Ed Bunty and Neila Fraizer, for example, were central to that inner circle. Together they started the Feast of Plenty, The Tampa Street School, ran a boarding house, and produced a media collection that resulted in Bishop being a regular on Sky Angel TV and BET & ABC local networks. In addition, Bishop served as the Chair for Blessed Hope Bible College and Director of the Tampa Street School. In the summer of 2012, Bishop completed a dialogue tour with the Turkish Cultural Center of Jacksonville, FL, visiting Istanbul, Izmir, Konya, Cappadocia, and the ancient city of Ephesus.

It would not be the first nor last time Bishop would choose to challenge conventional thought or make touch real-estate decisions.  Through all of them, however, Bishop continues to pace himself in fulfilling his goal to awaken and enlighten one million souls to a greater consciousness of who we are and what we mean to humanity at large. Bishop remains thankful for current members of the ministry and those who continue to support -members, family & friends- this ongoing mission to "wake-up" and learn how to turn water into wine!
